The Sweetest Thing

27 PM

No matter where you are in life, no matter you circumstances…your troubles, your worries, your sadnesses…having the tiny fingers of a newborn baby wrapped around your finger brings a sense of peace and contentment that is like no other.

01 PM-3

Watching a newborn quietly assimilate her new world…the sites, the scents, the sounds…is a peaceful thing to watch.  She just takes it in with no expectations and explores whatever comes her way.

59 PM

When does this innocent sense of peace leaves us?  We’re so busy with our lives, our jobs, our families, our worries, our sadnesses and our just…busy-ness, we rarely take time for peace in our lives.

56 PM

I’m rediscovering, as I did when my first granddaughter was born, that I can recover some of that peace when I hold my newborn granddaughter.  Her tiny hands waving, her dark eyes following the sounds of familiar voices, and the little baby smiles she gives me bring a feeling of contentment that is very much needed in my chaotic world.

55 PM-2

Sleep on, Baby Budda…dream of peace for us all.

Only you could so effortlessly wax poetic about what could be baby gas and make us forget anything newborn-affiliated that’s not so romantically sweet. Your ability to express all this is irritatingly grand :-) Love it!

Kathy, you are so right! Holding my five babies gave me this same peace. No matter what my life outside was like…just holding them and seeing the peace they had….I absorbed it…. I am looking forward, to someday being a gramma, and feeling that all over again!
Thank you, again, for sharing with us!! You sure do have a way with words! :-)

Wendy…my grandbaby doesn’t have GAS! Those are SMILES directed straight to ME! Sheesh! LOL. I know she has gas and I know that she’s smiling about it, but if I want to fool myself into thinking those adorable little smiles are for me, I know you’ll indulge me…cause that’s what friends are for!

Thanks for the kudos. I do love writing and am glad you’re finding it irritating…I mean enjoyable. : )

Roberta, you are so right. Whether it’s babies or grandbabies it just doesn’t seem to matter. Those two grandbabies feel like my daughters and I love them with the same intensity.

So, see, you already know how it feels to be a gramma…just like it feels to be a mom!

Thanks for the comment and the atta-girl! I really, really appreciate you “tuning in”.
