Go Fish Go Update

Yes, friends and family, it’s time to yank out the Gramma Brag Book again on my little fishy.  Run while you still have a chance.

You still here?  Okay, you asked for it…

So, I was out tooling around with my daughter Kelly, trying to get those last minute odds and ends done before Miss Leilah shows up.  You know, stuff like reupholstering the rocking chair.

(I know, right?)

Anyway, Kelly says, “Oh, I have some more fodder for your gramma blog about your little fishy.”  (Okay, so maybe she didn’t use the word “fodder” as that sounds really old-woman-y.)

Remember my post about Mikayla’s swimming lessons and how she graduated through three swimming classes in two weeks?  Well, she’s broken her own record.

Her dad took her to her first Youth 1 swimming class tonight…you know the one I mentioned that is for six-year-olds and she’s not six until the end of February? (I warned you the braggin’ was about to commence!)

Seems after tonight’s lesson they moved her right on up to Youth 3.  Yep, blew right by the Youth 2 class.

Of course, Kelly’s psyched because they get a free lesson out of it.  The Y3 class doesn’t start until tomorrow…it goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays rather than Mondays and Wednesdays, so Mikayla gets to swim three days this week.  Sweet!

How’s that  for getting more bang for your granddad’s buck?

She’s a swimmin’ fool! Be sure, if you haven’t, you read the original Go Fish Go post from December. It will give you the beginning of the story and talks about your family and the kayaks. : ) Thanks for tuning in and mostly, thanks for commenting! It makes things more interesting!

Amazing little gal you got there … but you already knew that. I didn’t learn to swim until I was nearly forty — and I’m from Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. Go figure!

Love that you (not Kelly) use the word “fodder.” I use that one often. It’s a good word for us old folks.

We live two hours from the beach and minutes from lots and lots of lakes so swimming was being done a lot!

As for old ladies and “fodder”, at least that’s one word that I understand where it came from (not like the “galloping horse” thingie)!
