My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter stopped by on their way to buy a new camera. They needed to print something and it was closer to come to my house to do that. While Kelly and Andy were in my office working on getting the needed information, Mikayla and I started reading her Barbie Mariposa book. They weren’t here very long and when it was time to go, we were in the middle of the book.
Uh-oh.
Then the crying began.
“I know it’s been a long time since you’ve seen her, but she’s got things to do. You’ll see her tomorrow at school.”
More crying…
Whisper, whisper, whisper.
“Okay, how about if Mikayla stays with gramma while we go get the camera?”
Don’t let the truck door hit you in the butt as you back out of the driveway!
So, I dried up my tears and Mikayla and I went back in the house while Mommy and Andy went off to the store. I knew that Effective Grandparenting class I took would come in handy! Even grammas can use Effective Crying 101! ;)
Mikayla didn’t get to stay that long, but while she was here, we found coloring-book.info and they have 1000′s of pages from all kinds of characters that you can print and color free including….Barbie Marioposa! Check it out. There’s lots of images there ready to print out…something for everyone!

The Effective Crying 101 works great when stopped by a cop, too! (Yes, I admit that I did use it once ….)
Mikayla looks pretty darn content to hang with Gramma and color her Barbie Mariposa. Sweet!
Awesome! I admit I used a short skirt one time too so we’re even! Use it ‘fore ya lose it! LOL
